Guidelines for Preparing Manuscripts

Types of Papers

Original Articles: These include population-based surveys, program evaluations, impact assessment studies, randomized controlled trials, intervention studies, screening and diagnostic test studies, outcome studies, cost-effectiveness analyses, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, cohort studies, and case-control studies.

Original articles (up to 3000 words, excluding abstract, references, and tables) must be structured under the following headings: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review (optional), Research Methods, Results and Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure Legends.

Review Articles: These are generally written upon invitation by individuals with expertise in the field. However, unsolicited review articles will be considered based on merit. A brief summary of the author’s work or field of expertise should accompany the submission.

Brief Research Articles: These are concise original reports or viewpoints on current topics in education and social sciences. Manuscripts are limited to 1500 words, with an unstructured abstract of no more than 150 words, a maximum of 2 tables/figures, and 10 references. Up to six authors are allowed per submission.

General Criteria for Acceptance

  • The manuscript contributes to the development of scientific knowledge.
  • It applies sound methodology and provides sufficient detail for reproducibility.
  • Conclusions are based on reliable data.
  • It is concise, clearly written, and easy to understand.

Manuscripts may be submitted in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Manuscript Format

The manuscript should be uploaded to the journal system and must consist of Title, Authors, Address and Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Revie (Optional), Research and Method, Result and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment (Opsional), and References.

The Title

The article title should be written concisely and clearly, accurately reflecting the main content of the manuscript. [Use Times New Roman font, size 16 pt, in bold, with single spacing, and paragraph settings Before: 12 pt and After: 12 pt. The title should not be written in all capital letters and must avoid the use of uncommon abbreviations or acronyms.]

Authors

The manuscript has the main author and co-authors with the full name of the author and co-authors (no abbreviation), includes the affiliations and only one email for correspondence.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in two languages: Indonesian and English, using Times New Roman font size 10 pt, single spacing, and paragraph settings: Before 0 pt, After 0 pt. The length of the abstract should be between 150 to 250 words. Both versions of the abstract are mandatory, including for articles written in English. The Indonesian abstract must be written in formal language according to the standardized rules of Indonesian spelling. The use of citations, abbreviations, and mathematical formulas in the abstract should be avoided. The abstract should concisely present the background, objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions of the research.

Keywords

Immediately after the abstract, include a list of 3 to 6 keywords or phrases that represent the core topics of your article. The keywords must be written in English, arranged in alphabetical order, and separated by commas. Avoid using general, plural, or compound terms (such as “and,” “of,” etc.). Use only established abbreviations if necessary. The selected keywords will be used for indexing purposes and to increase article visibility in academic databases.

Introduction

The introduction must be structured systematically and include the following components: general background, problem formulation or hypothesis (if applicable), and the objective of the article. A review of previous literature (state of the art), which serves as the basis for establishing the novelty of the article, may be integrated within the Introduction or presented in a separate subsection titled Literature Review. Authors are given the flexibility to choose the format that best suits their research approach and scientific presentation. Citations in the manuscript should follow the APA 7th edition body-note style, for example: (Akhfas et al., 2021), ((Athallah & Frinaldi, 2025; Elvandari, 2015; Hill, 2020). All cited references must be listed in the reference section and are recommended to be managed using reference management tools such as Mendeley. The Introduction section must be written using Times New Roman font, size 12 pt, single spacing (Before: 0 pt, After: 0 pt, Line Spacing: Single), and justified alignment..

Literature Review

This section presents a discussion of relevant theories, concepts, and previous research findings related to the topic under study. Authors may choose to present the literature review as a separate section or integrate it into the Introduction. The cited literature must be recent, relevant, and critically analyzed to strengthen the scientific argumentation and support the novelty claim of the article. This section should be written using Times New Roman font, size 12 pt, with single spacing (Before: 0 pt, After: 0 pt, Line Spacing: Single), and justified alignment.

Research and Method

This section should explain the research methods used to address the problem, including the analytical approach. Describe the process systematically and clearly to allow reproducibility. Only primary tools for analysis or characterization need to be listed; common items may be omitted. Authors must mention the research location, respondent details (if applicable), and data collection and analysis techniques. Widely known methods should be cited rather than explained in full. Write procedures using declarative sentences. Figures must include captions below the image. Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing, Before: 0 pt, After: 0 pt, and justified alignment

Results and Discussions

This section presents research findings and their scientific interpretation in a clear and structured manner. The data must be processed and explained logically, supported by relevant literature, and should address the research questions or hypotheses. Authors are encouraged to compare their findings with previous studies to highlight the article’s contribution. Avoid raw data presentation; focus on meaningful analysis.

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English, with a maximum of 20 pages, using A4 size, 3 cm margins on all sides, Times New Roman 12 pt, single spacing (Before: 0 pt, After: 0 pt), and justified alignment. Foreign terms in Indonesian manuscripts must be italicized. Tables and figures must appear directly after being mentioned in the text, not at the end. Table titles are placed above, and figure captions below. Do not use vertical lines in tables. All visuals must be cited, such as: “as shown in Figure 1” or “based on Table 2”.

Mathematical formulas must be placed on separate lines, followed by a brief explanation. Direct quotations should be in quotation marks and include citations. Long quotations (over 40 words) must be indented and written without quotation marks.

Conclusions

The conclusion serves to concisely and clearly summarize the main findings of the study that directly address the research questions, objectives, or hypotheses presented earlier. This section is not intended to restate the entire discussion, but rather to highlight the core scientific contributions obtained from the research process. Authors are expected to formulate the conclusion in a concise yet comprehensive manner, reflecting the primary contribution of the study. If necessary, the final part of the conclusion may include practical implications, recommendations for scientific development, or suggestions for further research related to the topic or ideas raised in the article..

Acknowledgment (Optional)

This section is intended to express appreciation to parties who have contributed to the implementation of the research, such as financial support from institutions, technical assistance, or other forms of support from individuals or organizations. The acknowledgment is optional and should be placed before the references section.

References

All sources cited in the body of the manuscript must be fully listed in the reference section. The reference list should primarily consist of primary sources, such as scholarly journal articles, with a minimum proportion of 80% of the total references. Additionally, the cited sources are recommended to be relevant and published within the last ten (10) years to ensure the scientific novelty and relevance of the study. Each manuscript must include at least 10 references. Both in-text citations and the reference list must be consistently formatted using the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition referencing style. To facilitate citation and reference management, authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or Reference Manager.
