Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers are expected to evaluate submitted manuscripts thoroughly, fairly, and objectively. The following aspects should be considered when reviewing articles submitted to Jurnal Syntax Imperatif: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sosial:

1. Presentation

  • Does the paper present a cohesive and logical argument?
  • Are the ideas and flow of thought clearly presented?

2. Writing Quality

  • Is the title accurate and reflective of the content?
  • Is the manuscript concise, well-structured, and easy to follow?

3. Length and Structure

  • Does the manuscript need to be expanded or shortened?
  • Should any sections be summarized, merged, or removed?

4. Title

  • Is the title succinct and clear, avoiding unnecessary abbreviations?
  • Does it reflect the main findings or conclusions of the paper?

5. Abstract

Does the abstract clearly summarize the following elements?

  • Background
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

6. Introduction

  • Clear explanation of the research background
  • State of the art and relevant studies to support the novelty
  • Gap analysis or research justification
  • Research hypothesis or problem statement (optional)
  • Research approach to solving the problem
  • Clear statement of research objectives

7. Method

  • Clear and replicable research methods
  • Descriptions beyond definitions — detail on how the research was conducted
  • Explanation of research site, participants, instruments, and data analysis

8. Results and Discussion

  • Processed data presented in tables or figures, supported with explanation
  • Findings linked to research objectives or questions
  • Comparison with previous studies (agreement or contradiction)
  • Scientific interpretation of findings
  • Implications of the research clearly explained
  • Stated limitations or weaknesses of the study
  • Suggestions for further research or exploration of ideas

9. Conclusion

  • Answers the research objectives clearly
  • Includes implications or recommendations (optional)
  • Written in paragraph form (not bullet points or numbering)
